What photo works best for the La Calabaza AI video?

One photo of one pet with its whole body in view, sitting or standing, facing the camera, in good light, at least 512×512 px. That covers most of it. Because the generator copies your pet three times and makes it stand up, the model needs to see the full body and the face. Tight head crops, pets seen from behind, blurry action shots and photos with two animals are what fail.

The checklist

  • One pet per photo — the model keeps one animal and triplicates it
  • Whole body and tail in frame, nothing cut off at the edges
  • Facing the camera, both eyes visible
  • Even light, no hard shadow across the face or dark room
  • Sitting upright or standing works better than curled up
  • JPG, PNG or WEBP, under 10 MB, at least 512 px on the short side
  • No heavy filters, AR ears or stickers

For the "Me with the kittens" version

Upload a photo of yourself from the waist up, facing the camera, in good light. Your face and outfit are kept exactly; three small kittens are added beside you. Sunglasses and hats hide what the model needs to keep, so take them off for the photo.

Phone photos and screenshots

Phone photos are fine. Screenshots from a video are fine too if the frame is sharp — the example on the homepage was made from a single frame of a video. Avoid photos that were already compressed by a chat app several times.

Two pets in one photo?

Crop to one of them first. Any phone gallery can do it. Upload the crop, and the video will be three copies of that pet.

FAQ

Can I use a photo of just my cat's face?
It can work, but the body will be invented. A whole-body photo keeps the markings right.
Does a black cat work?
Yes, with good lighting so the model can see the shape. Avoid dark backgrounds.
What about a photo with a person and a pet?
Crop to the pet for My pet ×3, or to the person for Me with the kittens.
